Belief Statements That I Aspire to as a Teacher

The four ethical standards of care, respect, trust, and integrity relate to the belief statements I aspire to as a teacher, as these standards form the foundation for any successful relationship.

I feel that teaching and student learning are inextricably linked as teachers provide opportunities for students to gain knowledge and develop skills, but that teachers can learn from their students as well. I want to always remain open to this notion and evolve as a teacher through experiences in the classroom, in addition to evolving through career changes, professional interactions, and collaborative practice.

Lifelong learning is a lifestyle for me. Given this, I see the value in, and need for, ongoing and self-directed learning.
